actually happened.
Arshaan Gandhi photographs weddings and public figures. He arrives as a guest, learns the family, and then mostly disappears into the day.
Most wedding photographs are of people being photographed.
Arshaan works the other way around. He spends the first hours meeting the family properly — who is who, which relative will cry, who will hold the ceremony together — and by the time anything begins he is no longer a photographer in the room. He is simply someone who is already there.
What comes back is a record of the wedding as it actually ran, not a set of arrangements built for a camera. The formal photographs get made too, properly and without fuss, because a family deserves both.
He also photographs people the country already knows.
Editorial and on-set work, shot between weddings — and the reason he is quick in a room where nobody is waiting for him.

We had told him only the timings, nothing else. Somehow he was always standing exactly where the moment was about to happen. My mother still says she never noticed him once during the Narmada arti.
